Dr. Sherry C. Adams
An educator for over 25 years, Dr. Adams graduated with her Bachelor’s Degree in Business Management, her Master’s Degree in Middle School Curriculum and she culminated with her Doctorate in Educational Leadership from Clark Atlanta University with a 3.95 GPA.
She is a National Board Certified Teacher and served on the Board of Directors for the National Board of Professional Teaching Standards in Washington D.C under the direction of Governor Roy Barnes. Dr. Adams was featured in an award winning educational video titled, “Better Teaching, Better Learning, Better Schools”, which has been viewed nationally and internationally. This video won the prestigious international, “Distinguished Achievement Award in Technology."
Dr. Adams’ was presented the “Excellence in Education National Award” by Dr. Dorothy Height, from the National Council of Negro Women. Dr. Adams was one of two teachers recognized by National Board of Professional Teaching Standards, Chair, Barbara Kelley, in a speech presented at the White House Conference on “Preparing Quality Teachers.” A highlight of her career is when she embarked on a fully funded, three-week study to Japan as part of the Fulbright Memorial Fund Teacher Program where she participated in professional development that gave her cross-cultural experiences with the Japanese educational system.
As Helen Keller stated, “Alone we can do so little; together, we can do so much.” Cindy Peters has devoted her life and developed her executive career on this philosophy. Cindy grew up with two siblings with developmental disabilities and has always exhibited a strong commitment to this population. Cindy has more than thirty years of experience in American Sign Language and has taught hundreds basic and conversational sign language.
In 2007, Cindy developed I Sign For You, Inc. which is a non-profit organization that serves adults with developmental disabilities and operated a State approved adult day program. Cindy serves as President on the Board of Directors at I Sign For You, Inc., and is the CEO of the organization.
As Cindy is goal driven, a creative problem solver, and a measured risk taker, she moved I Sign For You, Inc. forward in helping the organization receive accreditation in October 2011, and certification by the State of Georgia in February 2012.
Today, Cindy resides in Conyers, Georgia with her wonderful son, Michael.
Rev. Sharon Allbritton
Rev. Sharon Allbritton is a native of Los Angeles, California. She earned and received her Bachelor of Arts Degree from the University of California, Riverside with concentrations in Education and English. In 2003, Sharon answered the call to attend seminary and began attending Talbot Seminary on the campus of Biola University in La Mirada, CA. Sharon completed her theological education at Morehouse School of Religion on the campus of The Interdenominational Theological Center (ITC) in Atlanta, GA. On May 7, 2011, Sharon earned her Master of Divinity degree with concentrations in Christian Education and Pastoral Care & Counseling. Sharon currently serves as an Associate Minister at New Mountain Top Baptist Church under the leadership of Bishop A. Reginald Litman. Rev. Allbritton has a love and compassion for youth and young adults which has led her to be a mentor and counselor to numerous young people through their challenges and successes. Rev. Allbritton stands on the Scripture “nothing is impossible with God.”
I am a recent graduate of Georgia State University. I earned a Bachelor Degree of Science and Math in Middle Level Education. I envision a professional learning community dedicated and committed to building the future one student at a time. In my free time, I love spending time with my family, researching, and taking on new adventures.
